(cracks beer) Let's start with the hemp.
Hemp is a righteous plant, but you already know that. Hemp is one of earth’s long-known natural wonders; used over centuries by indigenous cultures for its value as medicine, textiles, food, and fuel. Hemp even toppled empires (rabbit hole alert): look-up how a hemp shortage ended the British empire; turns out it wasn't just beans for breakfast.
We digress. Hemp hasn’t changed much throughout the years, it’s just been some people's perception of it; now a new generation wants their hemp back,
and that kids, is why we’re here.
(enter) Our founding fathers
Not the wig wearing ones, Dr.Jimmy’s founding fathers: Elvis “Papi” Edwards, a Caribbean native and serial hempreneur, and Drew Farwell, a salty surfer moonlighting as a businessman somewhere in the middle of the Pacific (Hawaii to be exact). Respectfully, they’ve endured a good slog through the hemp/CBD industry (and other various ventures) over the years, until one fateful day they crossed paths in landlocked Colorado.
The thin air must have gotten to their heads, as it was then and there they agreed on the general “lack of freshness” in the CBD industry, and that it was “high time” they went out on their own. Their shared enthusiasm for sunshine, cannabis, and good times led them inevitably to the formation of: Dr.Jimmy’s.

The mission: to create hemp products that would support our, and our friend's, recreational (but always professional) pursuits; and a brand that didn’t take itself “too seriously,”
"...like, who ever caught a tan
working that 9 to 5!?”
(can if your cubicle is outside)
Jokes aside, it was important to our founders that Dr.Jimmy’s products, and business practices, be a reflection of their own passion for environmental stewardship and equitable outdoor access.
That's why Dr.Jimmy's unique formulas and products are focused around the diverse and natural benefits of organically-grown USA hemp; it helps us keep things simple. (and) Simple is good because it's reef safe, people safe, and free from all the excess crud. Beyond our products, we aim to expand diversity and equitable access to the outdoors through community partnerships and joining forces with "like-minded" local organizations like AccesSurf.
As a new company, we understand true sustainability doesn’t happen overnight, so we vow to: always be transparent, and constantly strive to be better for our mother earth; and all of you.
Mahalos for listening folks, and as a quick reminder, for whatever life throws at you, "just put some Jimmy's on it."
